BELTON, TX….Staff SGT (SSG) United States Army, Jon Michael Bullard, a resident of Belton, TX, died Sunday, May 14, 2017. He was 40.

            Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Gardens of Memory mausoleum, between Headland and Dothan, with a United States Army Chaplain officiating.  Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            SSG Bullard was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised in Glendale, Arizona and was a graduate of the Glendale High School. He joined the United States Army in 1996 and was deployed to Bosnia and Iraq at various times from 1997 to 2011. SSG Bullard more recently was deployed to Korea from 2016 to 2017. He was a noncommissioned officer with 1^st Calvary Division and served eighteen years as a fire support specialist assigned to 82^nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1^st Brigade Combat Team for two years. SSG Bullard’s awards and decorations include four Army Commendation Medals, eleven Army Achievement Medals and six Good Conduct Medals.  He was a member of the Missouri Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. SSG. Bullard was preceded in death by his sister, Christina Marie Sexton; father-in-law, Gregg Tate.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Amanda Lynn Tate Bullard, Belton, TX; two daughters, Lacee Bullard, Colorado Springs, CO and Holly Bullard, San Antonio, TX; a step-daughter, Kaitlyn King, Belton, TX; his father, Kenneth Bullard (Rosemary), his mother, Marilyn Bullard, all of Arizona; a granddaughter, Cileste King; grandparents, Louis and Darrell Bullard and Arthur Borden and Janis Byers; mother-in-law, Tami Tate, Abbeville, AL.
