DOTHAN. . .Sybil Rister Rich, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday morning, December, 29, 2016, in Westside Terrace. She was 73.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016, in the Blackwood Cemetery, near Headland, with Pastor Phillip Collins officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the sanctuary of the Blackwood Church. 

             Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Blackwood Cemetery Fund, c/o Laura Johnson, 751 County Road 576, Headland, AL 36345.

            Sybil Rich was born in Albany, Georgia and was reared in Dothan. She was a graduate of Dothan High School and also received a B. S. Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Troy University. Sybil resided in various locations, primarily in Virginia, while employed with Department of Defense contractors. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Gaye Luker Rister and her father, Philemon Rister.

            Surviving relatives include two sisters, Linda Price, Apopka, FL; and Laura Aplin (Albert), Slocomb; a brother, Phillip Rister, Dothan; nieces and nephews.
