Thomas Eueal Merritt of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Geneva, Alabama, changed his address October 7, 2018, when he stepped into heaven and was completely healed after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Malone, Florida, on May 18, 1943 to Mildred and David Merritt.

He was a 1961 graduate of Geneva High School and received an Associate Degree from Dade Community College, Miami, Florida. He served in the Army and Air Force. The majority of his career was as an aircraft mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Merritt and his sister, Gayle Snuggs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Huberta Denny Merritt; two daughters, Erin Merritt Wood and H. Rhea McGinnas; three grandsons, Patrick, Seth, and Kenneth Wood; his mother, Mildred Merritt, his brother, Dickey Merritt, his sister-in-law, Ann Strickland, and his brother-in-law, Thomas (Mort) Snuggs.

There will be a Memorial Service conducted by his cousin, Rev. Terry Hayes on November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eueal Merritt Cancer Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
