Timothy Charles Turner, a resident of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his residence. He was 56.


A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 17, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.


Mr. Turner was born on March 6, 1960 in St. Petersburg, FL and resided there the early years of his life until he moved to Newton in 1988. He attended Dale County and was later employed with Ozark Board of Education for 22 years. Mr. Turner enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, and throwing darts. He was a loving husband and a wonderful provider, and will be missed terribly.


Survivors include his wife, Hope Turner, Newton; his son, Chris (Shelbie) Turner; his daughters, Sarah Turner and Ashley (Bryce) Day; his grandchildren, Aiden Hunter Day, Jason Lewis Turner; his aunt, Joette (Bob) Bankston; his uncles, Donald McKnight, Emmett (Judy) McKnight, and Dennis (Carol) McKnight; his sister-in-law, Annette McKnight; several nieces and nephews.
