Vanita D. Parker of Geneva, AL passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017. She was 92.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Pleasant Side Cemetery in Shelby County, Alabama.

Mrs. Parkers was born on January 28, 1925 to the late Malley S.and Ivarine Terrell Perry. Mrs. Parker worked with K-mart Corp and Sears as a merchandiser for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended the Geneva Church of Christ for many years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Parker, and one daughter, Charmelee Joy.

She is survived by two sons, T.S “Doc” Parker of Geneva, AL, and Leland L. “Lee” Parker of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Stanley W. Perry of Pensacola, FL;  six grandchildren, Brian Peters, Scott, Jana, Jack, Hannah, and Gregory Parker.
