Vanita Holmes Boulware, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at her residence. She was 92.

The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home 4-6 pm on Friday, March 16, 2018. A short memorial service will follow at 6 pm. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1 pm EST in Chipley Cemetery in Pine Mountain, Georgia with Sunset Memorial Park directing.

Vanita was born on January 19, 1926 in Dublin, Georgia and lived the early years of her life there. On December 16, 1945 she married the late James Edward Boulware, Sr. and moved to Atlanta. She was employed in the banking industry before working in the real estate business as an agent for more than 30 years until her retirement at age 80. She moved to Pine Mountain, Georgia in 1995 and resided in Dothan since 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Boulware, Sr.; her son, Brock Thurman Boulware; and her sister, Willene Lamb.

Survivors include her children, James Edward (Nancy) Boulware, Jr., Van Holmes Boulware and Vanita Boulware Sansom; her grandchildren, Jeremiah (Sarah) Boulware, Ivy B. (Jason) Schrimsher, Lane (Todd) Hoover, Kate (Luke) Dodde, Kurt (Colleen) Sansom and Grace Ann (Barry) Chappell; her great grandchildren, Tristan Schrimsher, James Chappell, Ava Hoover, Thomas Chappell, Danielle Hoover, Brittany Hoover, Jessica Hoover, Harding Sansom and Humphrey Sansom; her sisters, Betty Chambless and Rose Shoptaw; and several nieces and nephews.
