The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-3 pm on the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your church or a charity of your choice.

Vern was born June 4, 1956 in Tampa, FL and resided in Alaska the early part of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of Choctawhatchee High School in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and attended Florida State University. He moved to Dothan in 1981 where he was employed with Napier Air Service and the Dothan Jet Center. He was the co-founder of Air Speed Aviation in the early 2000's. In 2010 he began his law education at the Jones Law School at Faulkner University and graduated in 2013, after which he opened his law practice in Dothan. In February 2017, he moved the practice into a newly renovated office at a historic location on West Main Street. Vernon was passionate about life, and he loved to dance and spend time with his family and friends. He was living his dream. He will be remembered fondly by so many as a wonderful friend, mentor and leader; but most of all as the best husband and daddy imaginable.

Williams and her husband Don of Dothan; his grandchildren, Julia, Kaydence, and Maryetta Hunter of Charlotte, NC, Don and Grace Williams of Dothan; his mother, Dolores "Dolly" Lamperski Hein of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; an uncle, Stan R. Lamperski of Charlotte, NC; his former wife, Cindy Parker and her husband Mike of Milton, FL.

Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Paul Nicholas Hein, an aunt, Elizabeth Eason, and uncles, Fred and Rudy Hein.
