Mr. Vernon Wayne Kilcrease of Samson, AL passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Kilcrease was born in Hollywood, FL on April 28, 1957 to the late Daniel Othoris Kilcrease and Lillie Maxine Claxton Helms. Wayne, who was lovingly known to his family and friends as “Fred”, has lived in the Geneva and Samson area since 1991. In his working career, he worked as a drywall contractor for many years.   

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda and Lisa Kilcrease; step-mother, Reba Kilcrease; and step-father, Gene Helms.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Shaffer Kilcrease of Samson, AL; three daughters, Bobbi Jo Kilcrease Reliford of Douglas, GA, Ashley Kilcrease of Bonifay, FL, and Erica Heath (Steven) of Lake City, FL; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Bowman, Jackson Heath, Jesse Reliford, James Reliford, Carlee Heath, Macie Jennings, and Adalyn Morey; brothers and sisters, Dan Kilcrease (Lola) of Plant City, FL, Mike Kilcrease (Kathi) of Leesburg, FL, Sandi Kilcrease of Bartow, FL, Tina Branch of Summerfield, FL, Charles Kilcrease (Emily) of Clermont, FL, Jason Kilcrease (Amiee) of Tavares, FL, Paul Kilcrease (Melissa) of Dade City, FL, and Lynette Kilcrease-Excel of Belleview, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Samson Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 22, Samson, AL 36477.
