OZARK…. Mrs. Versie “Jo” Wilkinson Walker, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2019 in an Ozark nursing home. She was 88.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Shiloh Word Fellowship Cemetery, between Clopton and Blue Springs,  with Reverend James E. “Buddy” Ward, Jr. and Reverend Randy Adams officiating. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive prior to the graveside service at the church.


            Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to, Shiloh Word Fellowship, c/o Gene Teal, 141 Pacific Street, Napier Field, AL 36303.


            Mrs. Walker, daughter of the late Roy Phil Wilkinson and Mary Harrison Wilkinson, was a native of Barbour County near Clopton. She was retired from West Point Pepperell in Abbeville after forty-three years employment. Mrs. Walker enjoyed spending time in her yards, gardening, and visiting with friends and family. Following her retirement, she enjoyed travelling the United States and going on cruises to the Bahamas. Mrs. Walker attended Shiloh Word Fellowship near Blue Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Walker; granddaughter, Misty Shibion Hagler Walker; two sisters, Mary Jane Wilkinson and Willie Wallin.


            Surviving relatives include her son, Greg Walker (Donna), Newton; two brothers, Alvin Wilkinson (Martha), Phenix City, AL and James Roy Wilkinson, Skipperville; grandson, Kolten Gregory Walker; granddaughter, Candis Hagler Steele (Derek); nephew, Terry Wallin; two nieces, Deborah Fitzgerald (Tom), Karen Malone (Michael); great-niece, Kaitlyn Fitzgerald; loving special friends, Mary Ann Carroll-Alums; Brenna Martin; Rick and Jane Martin.
