FT. GAINES, GEORGIA. . .Virginia Gashaw Williams, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, October 3, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. She was 77.

            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. (E.D.T.) Friday, October 6, 2017, in the New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines with Reverend Brandon Turner officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

            Mrs. Williams was a native of Henry County, daughter of the late Whit Balkum Gashaw and Nadine Tyson Gashaw. She lived in Ft. Gaines most of her adult lifetime where she worked as a cashier in the grocery business. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis W. Williams, a daughter, Debbie Williams, a sister, Christine Batson and three brothers, David Gashaw, Hollis Gashaw and James Gashaw.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Beverly Williams Potts, Dothan; four grandchildren, Travis Bryan, Chloe Dean, Curt Dupree and Reid Potts; a great-grandchild, Kelsey Davis.
