Vodie “Clyde” Meadows, 89, of Cottonwood, passed away at her residence, Thursday, June 22, 2017 after an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cottonwood City Cemetery in Cottonwood, with Kendall Glover directing.


The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday June 25, 2017 from 1:30 to 2:15 prior to the services.  Flowers will be accepted.


Clyde was born in Houston County on May 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Lee and Mary Lou Sloan Butler.   She was a homemaker all her life and a member of First Assembly of God in Cottonwood.  Clyde loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild very much.  She had a loving dedication to her pets. 


Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters Allie Mae Smith and Dorothy Lee; and two brothers Foy Butler and Walter Butler.


Survivors include her husband of 54 years Truman Meadows, Cottonwood; two daughters Carolyn Moss of Dothan and Jean (Earl) Newalu of McDonough, GA; two sons Dewey (Wendy) Meadows of Cottonwood and Shawn Meadows of Cottonwood; a sister Lettie Pearl Butler, Destin, FL; five grandchildren William Gilley, Blake Newalu, Kam Newalu, Cassie Meadows and Alyssa Renae Meadows; one great grandchild Gracyn Gilley; and several nieces.


Pallbearers will be William Gilley, Steve Gallagher, Allen Monday, Dustin Cogburn, Ray Schmidt, Larry Love, and Charles Love.
