Mr. Wilbur O. Childs of Samson passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017. He was 66. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 5 until 7. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice is suggested.

Mr. Childs was born in Samson, Alabama on August 30, 1950, to Henry Hubert Childs and Foy Virginia Childs.

He is survived by his parents, Henry Hubert Childs and Foy Virginia Childs of Samson, AL; one sister, Emily C. Fitzgerald of Knoxville, TN; two nieces, Amanda Coutta (Greg) of Knoxville, TN and Gretchen Caudill (Danny) of Fairbanks, AK; one nephew, David Hochnedel (Korie) El Paso, TX; three uncles, Herbert Childs, Hurshel McDuffie, and Howard McDuffie, all of Samson, AL; two aunts, Cumi Whigham of Montgomery, AL and Erika Hutto (Micky) of Hacoda, AL; and a special friend, Darris Lee of Atlanta, GA.
