Willene Stroud Hughes, of Enterprise, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 78.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise.  Burial will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.


Willene was born March 21, 1939, in Coffee County, to the late William Y. Stroud and Loudell Peacock Stroud.  In addition to her parents, her step-mother, Lois Smith Stroud also preceded her in death.  She was a faithful member of New Home Baptist Church.


Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Bell Hughes of Enterprise; three children: William Timothy Hughes (Melody), James Thomas Hughes, and Cynthia Hughes Willings (David), all of Enterprise; three grandchildren: Candice Cotton, Shawn Hughes (Jenny), and Chelsea Littlefield (Rex), all of Enterprise; six great-grandchildren: Alex Cotton, Ethan Cotton, Eli Hughes, Mindell Crews, Marcus Crews, and Brinlee Hughes.
