Waymon Franklin "Frank" Thomas, Jr., 66, of 17278 Hwy 39, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away at his home early Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018. His funeral will be held in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 273, Jakin, GA with David Pyle, Tom Kennedy, Alex Knight, Keith Steele, Randall Williams and Jerry Houston serving as pallbearers. Frank was born on September 5, 1952 to the late Waymon Franklin Thomas, Sr. and Louise Knight Thomas. He retired form Georgia Pacific Paper Mill after 44 years of service as a truck driver. His survivors include his wife, Joann Byrd Thomas of Blakely, GA, a daughter, Crystal Angelena Pope (David) of Cedar Springs, GA and a son, Franklin Trey Thomas (Heather) of Donalsonville,GA, his sister, Melanie Thomas Chitwood (John) of Ft. Worth, TX and a brother, Mack Thomas (Leigh) of Valdosta, GA. His 3 grandchildren are Sage and Camdon Thomas and Emma Pope. The family would like to express special thanks to Kevin Hood and family, David Pyle, Dr. Masters, Dr. Conners, Dr. McAllister and staff for giving us 2 more years; Southeast Alabama Medical Center Radiology department and doctors. Kindred Home Health, PT and Hospice, you were great.
