Willie B. King, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his residence. He was 81.

The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

Willie was born on July 25, 1936 in Texasville, Alabama and lived there his early years. He moved to Houston County at the age of 19. Mr. King was employed with Red Fox Fertilizer Company and Sunnyland Packing Company; at the time of his retirement, he was employed with Porter Hardware Company. He loved singing gospel music and was with R.W. Whitehurst and the Gospel Travelers of Dothan for over 60 years. Willie also was a member of A.Z. Stanley and the Sensational Bibletones of Dothan and he formed the Psalm 61 Gospel Singers. He was a member of Triumph the Church & Kingdom of God in Christ in Dothan.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Doris Ward King; his children, Gregory Paul King, Emanuel Gissendanner, Eddie Nelson, James Kenneth Ward, Jr., Robert Donald Ward and Chrycynthia Ward-Davis; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Reuben Ralph King; and several nieces and nephews.
