Once again, our Heavenly Father has reached into His garden and plucked another flowers to add to His everlasting bouquet.

Jean departed this life on July 12, 2017, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. Willie Jean Jones “Sista” was born in Columbia, AL to the late Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Afford on September 25, 1931. She was reared and educated in Dothan, Alabama. Jean was preceded in death by her late husband, Around Jones.

Jean leaves to cherish her many memories: two brothers, James Edward Afford (Clara), Jacksonville, FL and Leroy Afford (Sarah) Dothan, AL; Her special nieces and nephews, Lamar, Ann, Donna (Pokie), Jackie, Sabrina, Stephanie (Ash), Hugo, and Harolena; a host of Great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; one great-great-great niece; two devoted God daughters, Joyce Hollis and Lillien Cirino, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Stringer Street A.M.E. Church on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11AM with Dr. Rev. Frederick D. Sherrod officiating and with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. Following the funeral services the burial will take place at Gates of Heaven. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.
