Willie Pauline Thurston Rhodes of Samson passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was 85 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Mike Shortt and Bro. Dell Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottondale Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Cottondale, FL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Rhodes was born in Geneva County, AL on February 1, 1933 to the late Jesse D. and Rencie Veda Aycock Thurston. Mrs. Rhodes was very loving and devoted to her family. She gave all she had to the needs of her husband, son and her entire family. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Rhodes; one son, Donnie Wayne Rhodes; and one sister, Carolyn Stephens.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeanette Thurston of Samson; two sisters, Catherine Thames of Samson, and Patricia Floyd and husband Dell of Samson; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Rhodes Walden (Leon) of Pensacola, FL, and Mildred Rhodes Otis (Ben) of Milton, FL;  many special nieces and nephews.
