WYATT  GLENN  PEEPLES

WEBB. . . Wyatt Glenn (Dick) Peeples, a former resident of Webb, Alabama,  died Friday morning, January 18, 2019, in the Bill Nichols State Veteran’s Home in Alexander City. He was 91.

            Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 20, 2019, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Joel Laseter officiating.  Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to a favorite charity.

            Mr. Peeples was born and reared in Houston County, son of the late Jesse Cornelius Peeples and Lucy Bell Thompson Peeples. He was a graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. Mr. Peeples served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was one of Houston County’s first draftees to serve in the War. He was engaged in farming most of his adult life and in earlier years was affiliated with the James E. King Produce Company. He was a member of the Webb Baptist Church. Mr. Peeples was preceded by his wife Mary Ella Johns Peeples, a sister Mary Lucille Bush, a brother James Peeples, his step-mother Rose Weathington Peeples and two step-sisters, Sue Reed and Jackie Hart.

            Surviving relatives include two daughters Susiebell Peeples Lunamand (Charles), Cropwell, Alabama and Melissa Peeples Shiver, Thomasville, Georgia; three grandchildren Charles Glenn Lunamand, Courtney Shiver (fiancee’ Joe Hawkins) and Christopher Shiver (Taylor).
