Wynelle (Godwin) Lasseter passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018.  She was 87.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 11596 Hwy. 51, New Brockton, AL 36351.

Mrs. Lasseter was born to the late Walter M. and Suzie (Averett) Godwin.  She was the youngest of their nine children who are already deceased, five sisters: Flossie Clark, Ruby Rainey, Wilma Ramsey, Doris Simmons and Mary Johnson, also, three brothers, James, Edsel and Cecil Godwin.

Mrs. Lasseter spent a 35 year career with the Coffee County Dept. of Agriculture (now known as the Farm Service Agency).  The last 10 years of her career was spent as the County Executive Director.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Lasseter.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Adam Feiner, Enterprise, AL; a son, Chris and Julee Lasseter, Ashford, AL; four grandsons, JJ Clemmons, Seth Feiner, Sam Lasseter and John Luke Lasseter; one sister-in-law, Earlean Godwin.
