HEADLAND. . .Zelda Vinson White, a resident of Headland, died early Wednesday afternoon, February 8, 2017, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 93.

            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Norman C. Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the mortuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Counseling, 2130 County Road 125, Headland, AL 36345 or to Kindred/Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Mrs. White was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late J. Zeamer Vinson and Edna Earle Gamble Vinson. She was a graduate of Headland High School and lived in Headland most of her lifetime. Mrs. White was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. In earlier years, she was employed by Buds N Blossoms Nursery. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry (Jim), White, Sr., a great-granddaughter, Lila Kate Carpenter, and two brothers, Heywood Vinson and Howard Vinson.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sylvia White Shepherd, Headland; a son, James H (Jim) White, Jr. (Kathy), Dothan; two sisters, Robbie Bush Adams and Sara Ham both of Headland; six grandchildren, David White (Kasey), Daniel White (Sarah), Joy Carpenter (Anthony), Michael White, Ann Love (Nathan), and Andrew Shepherd (Whitney); fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
