As a concerned citizen of the Wiregrass, I wanted to let everyone how to handle a Felony drug conviction in Houston County and avoid jail time. A Pike County individual was arrested in possession of cocaine and presc ription medication, no presc ription. This individual was placed in the Pretrial Diversion program. He reported to Pike County for urinalysis - sometimes. After TWO months of no-show, a concerned citizen contacted the Houston County DA office, prompting contact of the person's attorney. He was instructed to report, via his atty, the following day for urinalysis. He was not able to pass the test. Thus, he was given a choice of jail or rehab. He chose rehab for 30 days. Follow the li nk to see the resort allowed by Houston County for 30 days of rehab in Texas rather than jail. wwww.originsrecovery.com Apparently there are no longer consequences for breaking multiple laws, multiple times. Precedent has been set. Pass along the good news.
