Marsden Campaign Supports Local Firefighters

On 2 August, Dr. Jennifer Marsden, running for Alabama State Representative in District 93 (Dale & Houston Co), presented a donation to the Level Plains Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jamie Gatlin at a fundraiser garage sale. Sadly, our annual state funding only provides for the cost of a single fireman's fire-fighting equipment, making these types of fundraisers necessary. In addition firefighter kit, updating the department's equipment would improve insurance rates in Level Plains. Shoppers had the opportunity to meet some of the 17 Volunteer Fire Department members and speak with Dr. Marsden about district wide issues that are important to them. The Marsden campaign also took the time to register voters and educate the public on the new voter id requirement. The Sportman's Lounge in Level Plains provided many of the donated items and hosted the event which was well attended despite some light rain in the morning.
