Wallace Community College to Host "Gateway to College " For Adults Over 50

Dothan, Ala.—Wallace Community College will host the Gateway to College event, the first of four sessions in the Plus 50 initiative. The event is designed for adults over 50 who want to learn more about going back to college. Our population is living longer and working longer, and having a meaningful profession is important to quality of life at all ages. Many Plus 50 citizens were affected by the economic downturn, and finding a new career or retooling with new jobs skills is where a community college can help. Attendees will learn that it is easier than they think to go back to school, even if it has been awhile!

Attendees will be given step-by-step instructions on financial aid options, registration/admission processes, and academic and career counseling services. There will also be a virtual tour of the campus.

Staff and faculty will be on hand to guide attendees and there will be opportunity to speak individually.
