Headland Rams J.V. Softball Splits with Wicksburg

On Monday evening in Wicksburg , the Headland Rams J.V. softball team split a twin-bill with the Wicksburg Panthers. In game 1, the Rams held an 8-3 lead going into the final inning before allowing 6 runs in the last fr ame on a combination of errors and timely hitting by the Lady Panthers. Lauren Buchan went the distance for Headland taking a hard-luck loss and Myranda High got the win for Wicksburg. In game 2, Pamela Hatfield was in control throughout the course of an 11-2 win. She struck out 8 batters, allowing only 1 walk. In the double-header, Headland's offensive output was a team effort, with many pla yers contributing with hits. Both the Lady Rams' J.V. and Varsity softball squads will be in action on Thursday as they travel to Abbeville for a doubleheader.
