FROM DOTHAN POLICE DEPARTMENT




Dothan Police are on scene at Rip Hewes Stadium with a victim that sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was in a vehicle when a round went into the vehicle, striking the victim. The victim is being treated at a local hospital for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.


Early reports indicate the shooting was not related to the football game at the stadium nor were the shots fired from the parking lot. Officers are investigating where the shot came from. It is possible the shots came from several blocks away from the stadium. We will update the public as more information becomes available.
