HENRY COUNTY:    On Tuesday, November 5th, the registered voters throughout Henry County will have the opportunity to elect a new Probate Judge/County Commission Chairman.

The same person holds both jobs in Henry County. As Probate Judge you are in charge of property deed filings, tag sales, boat registration sales, adoptions, wills, mental commitments, and other tasks. The Probate Judge does not handle criminal cases.

As Chairman of the Henry County Commission you are the Chief Executive Officer of Henry County. You manage the day to day affairs of the county of the non-elected department heads, the agenda of the county commission, preside over the county commission meetings. You network with people, industry, government offices across the state and federal offices. 

As Chairman of the County Commission you diligently work to bring industry and jobs to Henry County, improve the infrastructure and road system of the county, and work to improve the quality of life. As Chairman you work to sell Henry County to people as a place to live and work.

The Republican Candidate for Probate Judge/Chairman of the Henry County Commission is Ray Marler.

Currently Ray Marler is Mayor of Headland Alabama. Ray Marler is in his 4th Consecutive Term as Mayor of Headland Alabama. With Ray Marler's leadership and the team he has served and worked with, Headland Alabama is a clean, low crime rate, low poverty rate city.

Alabama has 174 cities. According to DataUSA, Headland Alabama is ranked number 23 as the best place to live in Alabama. With an estimated population of 5,027 people, 84% own their own homes in Headland. The median age is reported as 36.4 years of age. In years 2021 - 2022 the reports show the employment rate in Headland Alabama grew 15.8% under Headland Mayor Ray Marler and his team that works with him. And 87.1% of the residents of Headland have health insurance.

Under the leadership of Mayor Ray Marler and his team, they have built a Headland Fire - Rescue service that is fully equipped and staffed with the tools needed to save lives and property. Trained and Professional Paramedics on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to work to save lives and property. State of the art ambulances for transports of those needing to go to the hospital. And always willing to respond anywhere in Henry County when the need arises.

Under Mayor Ray Marler and his team, one of those being Headland Director of Public Safety Director/Police Chief, Mark Jones has built a responsive and professional police department. Always working to keep Headland a safe city for people to live and work.

This experience as a leader of a team, because in Ray Marler's mind there is no " I " but always a " we ", a " team", he wants to work with everyone across Henry County, all towns such as Newville, Abbeville and Haleburg, to make Henry County a better place to work and live. As Commission Chairman to work with Headland - Abbeville - Abbeville Christian Academy in helping the Henry County School systems to provide quality education. 

Ray Marler wants to work with all of the law enforcement throughout Henry County, Sheriff - Abbeville Police, ALEA - Troopers, Alabama Game and Fish and continue with Headland Police to provide resources to keep Henry County residents and guests safe.
