DALE COUNTY: On Sunday morning Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Dale County Sheriff Deputies to a welfare check on Dale County Road 79.
Dale County Road 79 runs off Highway 134 just inside Dale County from Henry County.
When Dale County Sheriff Deputies arrived the found a 57-year-old female deceased. It was apparent this was a murder scene.
The welfare check came when the female did not show for work. When family checked on her the doors were locked and the car was at home.
Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, members of Dale County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Division, Dale County Coroner John Cawley, 33rd Judicial Circuit District Attorney Kirke Adams, Ozark Police Crime Scene Investigators and ALEA - SBI Agents all responded.
This investigation began as a “who done it” investigation. Since the initial call at 8:20 AM Sunday morning, Sheriff Bynum and the team have worked constantly.
They have made an arrest of James Johnson.
Johnson is in the Dale County Jail, booked for murder and a no bond.
At the time of this writing RSN does not have the motive. Sheriff Bynum will issue details as soon as they can be released.
GREAT JOB to the investigative team on their due diligence and bringing this case into an arrest.
10:33 A.M. UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Sherry Clark.
