GENEVA COUNTY: 7:13 PM WEDNESDAY Geneva County 911 dispatched Slocomb Fire - Rescue, Malvern Volunteer Fire and Fadette Volunteer Fire Department to reports of a structure fire on Vinson Road in Geneva County.
On arrival of the first fire engine company, Malvern Volunteer Fire a mutual aid request was made to Wicksburg Fire - Rescue for a water tanker truck. Slocomb Fire - Rescue arrived immediately after Malvern Volunteer Fire.
Malvern Volunteer Fire Chief Anthony Johnson and crew made a quick aggressive offensive attack on the fire and were able to quickly get under control.
The primary unit who held command on the scene cancelled Fadette Volunteer Fire and Wicksburg Fire - Rescue response.
VINSON ROAD - the road where my mother was raised. There and Helms Road. She was from Geneva County.
