DOTHAN: 11:07 PM Dothan 911 dispatched a fire alarm at 3040 Ross Clark Circle, Courtyard by Marriot.
This was a phone in, general fire alarm.
Because a story, multi occupant facility this requires a multi fire engine company response. You always respond units based on what is reported to the 911 Center until someone is on the scene and reports otherwise.
You do not respond and see what they have then roll what equipment is required. You roll what equipment is required based on what is reported to the 911 Center until someone arrives on the scene and determines exactly what is going on.
Some people in so called leadership positions do not grasp this concept. Those so called leaders are often referred to as dummies and ineffective leaders.
11:12 PM Dothan Fire Engine Company 10 ( West Main Street ) on scene. Engine 10 reports a three story building, hotel facility, nothing visible. Engine 10 instructed all incoming fire engines to go to Level 1 staging.
11:13 PM Dothan Fire Battalion Chief on scene.
11:15 PM Dothan Fire Engine Company 3 ( Whatley Drive ) arrived on the scene and standing by a fire hydrant.
11:16 PM Dothan Fire Truck Company and Dothan Fire Engine Company 2 ( Lakewood ) arrived on the scene and staging.
11:20 PM Dothan Fire Engine 10 has checked all floors and nothing has been found. All units with exception of Dothan Fire Engine 10 are returning to service. Engine 10 will remain on scene to re-set the fire alarm.
