HOUSTON COUNTY:    Mayors from across Houston County attempt to meet each month to discuss items of importance to each community.


Those Mayors are normally the Mayor of Kinsey, Webb, Columbia, Gordon, Avon, Cowarts, Cottonwood, Rehobeth and Taylor. The Mayor of Dothan normally does not attend and the Mayor of Ashford does not attend.


This month the Mayors met in Kinsey. This meeting Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe met with the Mayors. Not all were in attendance, some sent representatives.


Chairman Shoupe discussed the lodging tax which was passed by the registered voters of Houston County by a slim margin. This money can only be used for recreation ( youth ) or economic development.
