1:15 P.M.: Reports: Harris calls Trump to congratulate him on win

WASHINGTON, 1:15 P.M.—Vice President Kamala Harris called President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to congratulate him for his election victory, according to a senior Harris aide.


The aide said Harris discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power with Trump ahead of her planned concession speech Wednesday, scheduled for 3 p.m. central.


"I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president," Trump said to supporters in Florida.
