1:46 P.M. UPDATE: DAY 6 OF PEANUT FESTIVAL SUSPENDED DUE TO WEATHER

1:46 P.M., DOTHAN—Due to inclement weather, day 6 of the National Peanut Festival has been suspended. 


NPF organizers worked with the Houston County Emergency Management Agency and and the National Weather Service to make the decision. 


The forecast predicts periods of rain and possible lightning, causing safety concerns. 


However, the Market Hog Show will continue at 6 p.m., as it is an indoor event.


All other outdoor events are suspended, and festivities will resume on November 7 when conditions improve.


Any armbands purchased for today will be honored later in the week.
