SLOCOMB:    The City of Slocomb Alabama might be small, but the Slocomb City Fathers have HUGE HEARTS.


Slocomb City Council Members; Tony Davis, Joe Myles, Henry Hicks, Don White, Travis Garrett and Mayor Rob Hinson joined hands with other communities - Wicksburg Fire - Rescue, Enterprise Rescue, and Troy Fire Department and deployed ambulances to St. Petersburg Florida to help move patients.


This afternoon the Slocomb City Council is opening a limited number a limited number of RV sites for evacuees of Hurricane Milton. This initiative by the Slocomb City Council and Slocomb Mayor will provide a safe place for those displaced by the hurricane. This is an important community effort to help those in need. Power is available with limited water hook up.


If you are currently evacuating or know of anyone who is evacuating and have an RV and need a place, please contact Slocomb City Council Member Don White at 334-258-0942 to make arrangements and check availability.


Along with Slocomb, the men and women of Wicksburg Fire - Rescue, Enterprise Rescue, Troy Fire Chief, Troy Mayor and Troy City Council deployed ambulances to assist in St. Petersburg.


The people of St. Petersburg are thankful to the communities for their willingness to help those in need.


Enterprise Rescue deployed another ambulance to to St. Petersburg late this afternoon.


On Wednesday the initial plans are to deploy the ambulances to Miami to stage for the incoming hurricane. Immediately after landfall the ambulances will be deployed emergency back to St. Petersburg to immediately begin assiting EMS units.
