Ahead of a high-stakes presidential election and several state and local elections on November 5, make sure you are registered to vote.
Monday, October 21: Voter registration deadline
Tuesday, October 29: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail
Thursday, October 31: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person
To register to vote in Alabama you must:
- be a U.S. citizen
- live in Alabama
- be at least 18 years old on or before election day
- make sure you are not barred from voting due to disqualifying felony convictions
- have not been declared mentally incompetent by a court.
In order to vote, you must have a valid driver’s license or a valid government-issued ID to show to election workers.
You can register to vote and check registration here. You can also visit your county’s voter registration office.
