Chicago Man Arrested on Highway 98 for DUI and Stealing Low Speed Vehicle

WALTON COUNTY : Early Tuesday morning, a Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy noticed a low-speed vehicle traveling on the sidewalk of Highway 98 near Emerald Bay Drive.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and the driver, Anthony Garza, 37, of Chicago, Illinois said he had been given the golf cart by a woman shortly before he was stopped.
After further investigation, Garza was arrested for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The LSV was towed from the scene.
The following morning, deputies followed up with our friends at Lost Pizza Company where they confirmed the Low-Speed Vehicle was taken without permission.
An additional charge was added for grand theft.
His bond was set at $5,000 and Garza is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
