Elba man behind bars in New Brockton stabbing

NEW BROCKTON—An Elba man is in custody after a weekend stabbing in New Brockton, according a statement to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.


In the early hours of October 19, 2024, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds in the 100 block of County Road 287 in New Brockton, according to the statement.


Lonzo Head, 59, of Elba, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is now in the Coffee County Jail, and he is being held without bond.


The victim is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
