Honduran Man Charged with Sexual Battery on a Fourteen Year Old Girl

OKALOOSA COUNTY :The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Honduran man in the country illegally with sexual battery on a fourteen-year-old girl. Following an OCSO investigation, 20-year-old Kevin Mauricio Escobar Munoz was arrested today and booked into the Okaloosa County Jail.
The victim told investigators that she awoke in her home located in Fort Walton Beach shortly before 7:00 a.m. on April 21st to a Hispanic male she did not know sexually assaulting her. She reported that he covered her mouth with his hand and spoke Spanish. She stated that when he finished, he hugged her and possibly left out the back door.
A medical examination of the victim showed a positive finding for sexual abuse. On July 11th, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported the male DNA profile which matched the contributing male sample from the victim’s sexual assault kit belonged to Escobar Munoz.
Investigators learned that Escobar Munoz was living within one mile of the victim’s residence. Escobar Munoz was also charged with burglary for forcing entry into the victim’s residence.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Escobar Munoz was deported in September of 2022.
