Join the 500 Heater Challenge!

REHOBETH—Rehobeth business ANB Hardware (Rehobeth True Value) has issued a #heaterchallenge to Wiregrass businesses to help raise funds to purchase 500 space heaters, propane and supplies for the Wiregrass Reach Project to send to Asheville, NC. The group has already collected and delivered over 120,000 pounds of supplies to Asheville locals, sent in semi-trailers provided by AAA Cooper and Summerford Trucking.

 

Because needs of the community are changing quickly, Wiregrass Reach Project has shifted focus to collecting donations for Buddy Heaters. “Many are still without power or have unstable power. With this level of damage, it will be a year before they have the infrastructure back in place to support reliable power. Through our hardware store, we are able to access the items they need at wholesale prices; so we’re now collecting donations to purchase those in large enough amounts to send an entire trailer straight to Asheville, where our contacts at Covenant Community Church are working to distribute across western rural parts of North Carolina”, Project Lead and store co-owner, Nikki Enfinger, says. “I know everyone we’ve talked to wants to help, but many worry what they can afford to give, will not make a substantial impact.  The goal of this project is team up with every business, organization and person that wants to ‘do something’ and find ways to meet needs in a BIG way”, Ashley Enfinger adds.
