Pensacola Man Arrested for Human Trafficking with a Minor

BAY COUNTY FLA: Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford announced today the arrest of a Pensacola man on charges related to the human trafficking of a minor.
On Friday, October 11, 2024, BCSO investigators received information that a juvenile from Pensacola was in Bay County. Utilizing the technology available through the Bay Real Time Operations Center (BayROC) and other investigative means, the juvenile was located in the Callaway area. The juvenile was found with a man from Pensacola identified as Malcolm Drakeford, age 25.
During the investigation, it was learned the juvenile’s contact information had been posted on a website for the purposes of advertising sexual services. It was also learned that the same ad had been posted for months in various cities in Northwest Florida. After hours of interviews and evidence collection, enough information was gathered to charge Drakeford with Human Trafficking of a Minor, a life felony in the state of Florida.
Sheriff Ford reminds the public that crimes against children investigations take top priority, and those who seek to prey on children will be charged and held responsible for their reprehensible actions.
This investigation remains ongoing and further arrests are expected. The juvenile was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice. She will be transported back to Pensacola. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Department of Homeland Security for their assistance in this investigation.
