DOTHAN—The political action committee in support of Local Amendment 1, which would give Houston County Commissioners the power to make direct appointments to the Houston County Healthcare Authority instead of allowing the Board to make suggestions, released its final campaign finance report before Election Day.
The PAC paid Strategy Management, a company based in Montgomery, $6,925 for advertising.
It also paid Durden Outdoor $500. The expenditure is listed as “administrative.”
Both expenses are dated on November 1.
The PAC also lists a $500 donation from Bamaland, LLC, which is owned by a physician listed on Southeast Health’s website, according to the Alabama Secretary of State’s business entity records.
It also received $1,099 in non-itemized contributions.
The “Better Health Care for Houston County” PAC started the week with $6,734. After donations and expenses, the PAC has $908 in its wallet. It was again electronically signed by J.W. Howell, its treasurer.
It’s currently unclear where the remaining money will go after the election.
