Two Washington County Residents Arrested for Burglary in Holmes County

HOLMES COUNTY: On July 15, 2024, HCSO deputies arrested two Washington County residents for burglary. Deputies were patrolling Hwy 173 South and observed a white SUV exiting an abandoned house and property.
When the vehicle saw the deputy, it accelerated and headed north. The deputy activated his blue lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle, which continued to flee.
The vehicle eventually pulled over, and the driver was identified as Gary Wayne Corbin and the passenger as Haley Burnham. Both subjects were detained.
After questioning, they admitted to being on the property to steal items and had been there on several occasions. They also confessed to burglarizing and stealing from various places in Washington County.
Both were arrested and face charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools. Corbin also faces charges of fleeing and attempting to elude, as well as reckless driving.
