COLUMBIA:   1:41 PM    Houston County 911 dispatched Columbia Volunteer Fire - Rescue, Webb Volunteer Fire, Kinsey Volunteer Fire and Columbia Police to a structure fire.

The fire locations is 204 Radney Street in Columbia.

Reports to Houston County 911 the residence is smoke filled. The residents have evacuated.

Will update when units report.

1:45 PM    Columbia Rescue is on the scene. Reports heavy smoke from all sides of the residence. Columbia Engine 3 arrived as EMS arrived.

This will be a working structure fire.

Quick response and quick attack on the fire when emergency units arrived. The fire was under control in a short period of time. On arrival smoke was pouring from all sides of the house.

Columbia Fire Chief Daniel Forrester and Columbia Police Chief Wesley Harrison both suited up quick and made an aggressive offensive attack on the fire.

As Webb Volunteer Fire Department and Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department arrived others joined in and assisted.

Columbia Rescue was on the scene if any injuries. Columbia EMS Chief Clay Hamm handled Command while Chief Forrester and Chief Harrison were fighting the fire.

GREAT RESPONSE by all and good job.

A fire hydrant was directly across the street from the residence.
