HENRY COUNTY AL:   10:46 AM       The search continues on Lake Eufaula for missing persons feared to be in the water.


The search began Friday morning after Henry County Sheriff Department was notified of a person believed to be in the water.


The search was scaled back during the night but resumed this morning. Currently about 30 people are involved in the search to include Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship, members of Henry County Sheriff Department, Henry County Emergency Management, ALEA - Marine Division, Houston County Rescue Unit and other entities.


The Henry County Sheriff Helicopter is flying the water looking from the sky.


Henry County Sheriff Department has a Command Post set up north of Thomas Mill Creek.


Screamer Volunteer Fire Department has coordinated with SUBWAY in Abbeville who is donating food for those involved in the search.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship has confirmed the body of the missing Henry County man has been recovered from the lake.


The body was found near the mouth of Holiday Shores.


Henry County Coroner Derek Wright is on the scene and the family has been notified.


The victim has been identified as David James Finney, age 54. Mr. Finney lived in Holiday Shores.


Sheriff Blankenship said the investigation by the Sheriff Department is still underway but confirmed there is no foul play.


Sheriff Blankenship wishes to thank the members of Henry County Sheriff Department, all of the other agencies and volunteers, the Screamer Volunteer Fire Department, Henry County Emergency Management Director Matt Hatcher, SUBWAY in Abbeville, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Houston County Search and Rescue, ALEA - Marine Division, Baker's Landing, and the citizens that dropped supplies off at the Command Post, Alabama Games and Fish, and all others who assisted in this operation.


Sheriff Blankenship offers his sincere sympathy to the family of Mr. Finney.
