BARBOUR COUNTY:    6:56 PM.   A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 431 near Lake Point late this afternoon. Reports are the accident occurred about two  miles north of Lake Point.

Reports are the pedestrian was crossing from the southside of the four lane to the Northside. The pedestrian was reported to have been struck in the southbound lanes of traffic.

Eufaula Police, Eufaula Fire - Rescue, Barbour County Sheriff Department and ALEA - Troopers responded.

A Lifeflight helicopter responded ( unknown which aircraft ) and landed at Lakepoint and flew the patient to Southeast Hearth in Dothan. The pedestrian is reported to be in critical condition.

The accident, to RSN knowledge, is investigated by ALEA - Troopers.

UPDATED SUNDAY NIGHT @ 8:32 PM.  

RSN has no updated information on the patient condition. We have confirmed Survival Flight, stationed in Headland, was the medical aircraft which responded and transported the injured patient to Southeast Health in Dothan.
