HOUSTON COUNTY: The current Houston County Commission claims they are Transparent and Accountable.
Some Houston County registered voters have questioned where is the breakdown of the budget passed for FY 2026 – 2027. In addition, the 2025 – 2026 budget, in detail, where is it published. THe registered voters are unable to locate the detailed budget.
This Houston County Commission has gotten Houston County almost $ 14 million dollars upside down. And the registered voters have contacted RSN asking how and for details.
In addition, the lodging tax passed by this Houston County Commission, some municipalities are not getting the money they thought or money since the passage. Was the money a one time distribution or a ongoing distribution. But the transparent and accountable Houston County Commission is not providing detailed information.
The voters who have contacted RSN want the DETAILS, and not lip service. The also question the fact the Chairman of Houston County Commission is a full time job, then why is Chairman Brandon Shoupe working other jobs such as Adventureland ( purchased in Shoupe’s first four years ) and Tri-State Graphics purchased right after election. One registered voter understands the possibility that Shoupe might be looking at the paint ball place.
The registered voters want answers.
