ASHFORD: 05:09 AM Houston County 911 dispatched Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Ashford Police, Ashford Rescue and Ashford Volunteer Fire to a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle, 10800 block of U.S. Highway 84. The accident is near AMX Truck Lines on Highway 84.
The accident is in the east bound lane of traffic. The pedestrian has critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle has glass in their eye.
Ashford Police Chief Melvin Anderson has requested ALEA – Troopers to assist Ashford Police. One lane of Highway 84, east bound, has been closed.
Ashford Police is in charge of the accident investigation.

Ashford Rescue transported the driver of the vehicle, non emergency, to Southeast Health. Reports the driver has glass in their eyes. The pedestrian is a fatality on the scene. Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd is responding to the scene.
