GENEVA COUNTY:    
Today’s election is a primary for Republican nominee and Democratic nominee. County wide, the registered voters either vote in the Republican primary or Democratic primary, but can not vote in both.

In some offices the election will be over today if only two candidates, more than 2 the election will be over or a run off election in several weeks. If more than 2 candidates, one must receive 50% plus 1 of the votes cast in that race.

The General election in November, registered voters can pick either candidates on the ballot. You can vote Republican, Democrat or Independent.

Geneva County Sheriff Lt. Perez Bruner has more than 20 years with Geneva County Sheriff Department. Bruner has qualified as an independent candidate for Geneva County Sheriff. To qualify as an independent one must turn in petitions to the Probate Judge with so many signatures. For Geneva County Sheriff the number required was 241 registered voter signatures. Perez Brunder turned in over 600 names t oProbate Judge Toby Seay on Monday.

The voter registrar will very the names are qualified registered voters of Geneva County. Once verified Perez Bruner will be qualified as an Independent candidate for Geneva County Sheriff.

Two candidates in the Republican primary. Whoever wins the election today will face Bruner in November.
