HOUSTON COUNTY: In the words of the late Paul Harvey, now you have the rest of the story.
monday was Houston County Misdemeanor trials before Houston County District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis. There were 55 cases beofre Judge Lewis and all were disposed of either by trial or plea.
Once case before Judge Lewis was where a man was charged with Harrassment for alleged placing snakes in the mailbox of his estranged wife.
According to persons in the courtroom the testimony was the snakes belonged to his estranged wife. The man was tired of keeping her snakes. He placed them in her mailbox and sent her a message that he had placed her snakes in her mailbox. That he was tired of keeping them for her. And he wanted no physical contact with her.
After the testimony Judge Lewis found the man NOT GUILTY and dismissed the case.
So in the beginning, case sounded, well bad. After “the rest of the story”, well there was no criminal intent.
