OZARK:    In about 9 hours from the firearm assault, the Attempted Murder suspect is in custody.

On Monday morning, around 11:30 AM, Ozark-Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Police and Ozark Fire-Rescue to a firearm assault near Martin Luther King Avenue in Ozark.

On arrival the emergency units found a male subject, conscious and alert, suffereing from a gunshot wound to the torso. The firearm asasult victim was transprted by Ozark Fire-Rescue to a local hospital.

Ozark Police Criminal Investigators initial investigation revealed there was an apparent verbal altercation. The verbal altercation lead to a firearm assault. Ozark Police quickly determined a suspect.

A BOLO was issued for Jerome Darnell Johnson, age 38. The suspect hed fled the scene before officers arrived. Johnson was known to frequest Ozark and Clio areas. Johnson was reported to be armed and dangerous.

Jerome Darnell Johnson was booked into the Dale County Jail at 8:21 PM on Monday evening for Attempted Murder.  At this time there is no bond. Johnson will have a 72 hours hearing before Dale County District Court Judge Stan Garner.
