HOUSTON COUNTY: 10:35 PM. Houston County 911 dispatched Houston County Sheriff Deputies, ALEA – Troopers, Rehobeth Fire – Rescue and Hodgesville Volunteer fire to a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The location was 10940 U.S 231 South at the bridge.
A two vehicle accident which totaled both cars. One person was transported by Rehobeth Fire Rescue to Southeast Health, non emergency.
The accident was on the bridge. The accident presented a unique challenge for law enforcement because ALDOT ( Alabama Department of Transportation ) decided to do construction work on the heavy traveled Highway 231 as spring break and summer kicked off at the beach.
There was construction going on and detours for traffic.
ALEA – Troopers are in charge of the accident investigation.
